Company Dossier

A complete, source-attributed intelligence file on any business, from public data alone — nine sections, org chart to money trail to risk flags.

In depth

Read the whole company in minutes

Company Dossier compiles a complete intelligence file on any business — entirely from public data — and lays it out so you can read the company in minutes instead of weeks of open tabs.

Nine sections, every claim sourced

Every dossier is organized the same way, and every claim is tied back to its source:

  • Overview & identity
  • People & org chart
  • Hiring radar
  • Money trail
  • Locations
  • Tech fingerprint
  • News & timeline
  • Relationship web
  • Risk flags

Why it's different

Not a data broker and not a scraped list — a structured, attributed brief. If a claim is in the dossier, the source is one click away.

The build

How this product is put together

GitHubSource
  • TypeScript · Node 18+
  • Six public-source collectors
  • npm · company-dossier
  • MCP server (stdio + HTTP)
  • VS Code extension
  • GitHub Pages + CloudFront

One orchestrator (core.ts) fans out to six failure-tolerant collectors — live crawl, Wayback CDX, DNS/mail records, RDAP, tech fingerprint, search/social — normalizes everything into a single DossierData object, then renders the same nine-section dossier as markdown plus machine-readable dossier.json. A collector that times out is recorded as failed in the run metadata instead of sinking the dossier. Ships as the MIT-licensed npm package company-dossier and runs four ways: in-browser, CLI, hosted MCP server, and VS Code.
